Jen was approached by Marketforce (UK), the distribution arm of TI Media, and Passion Fish Consultancy to develop magazines that responded quickly to trends, identifying emerging gaps on the newsstand. The brief was to produce high-cover price, quality magazines – and fast, while the trend was still growing. Amazing Cakes was timed to perfection, on the newsstand just as the nation’s fixation with The Great British Bake Off hit a flurry of sprinkles. We were glued to our TVs week after week in real-time with Bake-Off competitions the new work norm.

Pulling together cake recipes from a number of different sources – from TI Media’s extensive food library (ti-mediacontent.com), new book launches and baking brands – Jen worked with Art Director Jo Elston (the duo launched The Craft Network’s Cake International magazine in 2015) on this project, bringing a fresh style, beautiful images, elegant typography and step-by-step recipes to its 116 pages. The content was divided into sections – from the weird and wacky to indulgent and festive… with of course plenty of showstoppers. A second issue followed in 2018.
